The problem is that our lifestyles, preoccupations, mental habits, societal pressures, and modern life all mess with our sleep. Poor sleep interferes with our health and happiness.
The good news is that great sleep is within your grasp. Even if you have "tried everything"! Why? Because 1) you haven't tried everything (just all the endlessly repeated advice on the internet) and 2) what you have tried most likely isn't done in a consistent, focused, step-by-step manner that results in change.

As a Functional Medicine Certified Health Coach (FMCHC), I help you uncover the physical, mental and environmental issues that contribute to sleeplessness and other impediments to optimized health. I am certified as a National Board-Certified Health and Wellness Coach (NBC-HWC).
With a background in psychology, I help you resolve the emotional-mental issues that not only perpetuate sleeplessness but interfere with enjoyment of life and productivity. People suffering from poor sleep may also have tendencies towards perfectionism, rumination, anxiety and depression. I have trained in Gestalt Psychology, Co-counseling, Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I bring other holistic therapies to my practice including Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT or Tapping) and PSYCH-K. I have trained in Sleep Science and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia.
I am a passionate believer in a deep and intimate relationship between humans and the rest of nature. I believe our societal disconnect from nature is one of the reasons sleep is such a problem in modern life. In my practice I find ways to bring this element into our work together. With an MA in Ecopsychology, I draw from societal, psychological and spiritual elements to help restore balance in people's lives. Prior to becoming a health coach I worked in the corporate world as a coach, facilitator and trainer. I bring an attitude of co-creation to my work with clients, seeing our work as a partnership, while I play the role of guide, facilitator and educator.
I didn't expect to find my calling in helping people sleep!
I myself have struggled with sleep at various times in my life and the last thing I wanted to do was to focus on sleep. When I became a Health Coach, however, I realized that getting great sleep was the ideal first step for my clientele. I know firsthand what it is like to not be able to sleep; what gets in the way of sleep, what its like to toss and turn all night, and how depleting it is, both mentally and physically, to sleep poorly. I have figured out for myself what it takes to get restful sleep every night and wake up energized and ready for the day.
As I developed my health coaching practice with a focus on improved sleep, I came to a surprising insight; my own poor sleep has been one of my greatest teachers in life! As a result of having trained myself to get great sleep, I have developed mental mastery skills that have contributed to greater happiness in life, as well as life-habits that help me maintain optimal health.
Additionally, a person who struggles with sleep often fits a profile that I myself embody. Some of these characteristics can make life more difficult and I have learned to resolve these things to lead a happy, energetic, and productive life. These characteristics include perfectionism, a tendency towards rumination, bouts of depression, and some ADHD-like behaviors. My life journey has been about managing my moods and state of mind while optimizing health, happiness, and personal growth.
With a background in psychology, coaching, functional medicine, earth-based spirituality, and biology, I have the education, expertise, and compassion to help others find sleep, peace, and positive energy. Other passions in my life include time spent in nature, especially when hiking, cycling, skiing or camping. I ardently believe that human health and the health of all of nature are intimately intertwined. I maintain my own health through nutrition, exercise, and reflection. I am an adventurer and learner, and I always find life interesting!
